Programmes currently active in this country

Livelihoods and Economic Recovery Programme

The programme increases the self-sufficiency of people affected by crises by supporting them in starting or expanding their businesses and/or effectively entering the labour market.

Counselling Programme

The aim of the Counselling Programme is to provide refugees with essential information and needs-based assistance, as well as to support refugees in their adaptation and independence. We base our support on the personal needs of those requiring assistance to help them make informed decisions about rebuilding their lives in a new country, which in turn contributes to the cohesion of a healthy society.

Community Programme

The Community Programme contributes to the formation of more cohesive and resilient communities by supporting refugees in adapting to their new society and involving the local, or host, community in welcoming newcomers. To achieve this, we organise community events and various group activities, as well as children's and youth camps across Estonia. Additionally, the aim of the community programme is to identify systemic and practical barriers to adaptation, integration, and the protection of refugees' rights.

Mental Health Programme

The program offers various activities supporting mental health, including group and individual therapy sessions, to increase the psychological well-being of refugees and ensure a healthier and more balanced society on a larger scale.

Education and Awareness Programme

The Education and Awareness programme raises awareness about forced migration and integration by highlighting the new possibilities and challenges accompanying migration.

Advocacy and Protection Programme

The Advocacy and Protection programme stands for the rights and well-being of refugees at the local, national, and international levels. We gather feedback from refugees regarding both good practices, challenges, and systemic violations. If we can contribute to solving refugees' problems, we will do so. We listen carefully to what refugees tell us and contribute to solving their problems.

Estonian Refugee Council provides services to refugees that support their integration in the Estonian society and that enhance their self-reliance. We offer refugees high-quality, relevant and up-to-date information based on their personal needs to help them make informed decisions about rebuilding their lives in a new country.
